¶ Commissions
Commissions are important because they directly determine your income. When a product is 120 Euro and a commission is set of 10% you will earn 12 Euro.
¶ Create Commission rule
- Navigate to Menu > My Marketplace > Commissions
- Click
Create
- Enter the commission settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Percentage fee | The percentage applied on the product price to calculate the commission |
| Flat fee | A fixed commission applied to every purchased product |
| Tax | The VAT that is applied on top of the commission |
| Apply to Merchant | Select a merchant to apply this commission rule to |
| Apply to Collection | Select a collection to apply this commission rule to |
| Type of rule | Select the type of commission, see Type of rule |
| Apply fee to price including VAT | Let's say a product costs 100 euro + 21 euro VAT, if applied inluding VAT, a commission of 10% will be calculated on 121 Euro (=12.10 euro), if excluded, to 100 Euro (=10euro) |
- Click
Save - In the overview you should now see your newly added commission.
¶ Commission rule hierarchy
When a product is bought the list of rules is queried and checked for relevant commission rules for that product.
| Hierarchy | Commission rule | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Collection | When a product is bought the platform first checks if there is a commission set on collection level, if yes this is applied. |
| 2 | Merchant | If there is no collection commission rule, the platform checks if there is a commission applied to this product's seller/merchant, if yes then this is applied. |
| 3 | Global | If there is none of these then the global commission is applied which can be used for any product. |
Create a global commission rule by leaving
Apply to MerchantandApply to Collectionempty.
¶ Type of rule
There are 4 types of rules:
| Ruletype | Description |
|---|---|
| Platform | Always use this type if you want to apply a global, merchant, collection commission on a product |
| iDeal | This type is always global and can be used to incur the ideal costs of the transaction on the merchant, only one record is needed |
| Domestic card | This type is always global and can be used to incur the domestic credit card costs of the transaction on the merchant, only one record is needed |
| International card | This type is always global and can be used to incur the international credit card costs of the transaction on the merchant, only one record is needed |
¶ Update Commission rule
- In the overview click on the
Pencilbutton of the rule you want to update.
- Change the settings as desired, see Create Commission rule
- Click
